Nigel has a wealth of experience and knowledge from a diverse range of environmental portfolios across government, the private sector and internationally. For the last 15 years Nigel has been operating as a senior manager across a range of Natural Resource Management portfolios with a demonstrated track record of providing direction and achieving results through multidisciplinary teams. Nigel has worked across a range of policy, strategic planning and environmental legislation to deliver, with partners, a range of targeted threatened species and ecosystem management priorities. Nigel is also the Director and Principal Ecologist at Songbird Ecology Pty Ltd.

Werkervaring

2021 - Current

Songbird Ecology Pty Ltd - Director/Principal Ecologist, New South Wales Delivery of Biodiversity Stewardship Site Assessment Reports (BSSAR) and Biodiversity Development Assessment Reports (BDARs) using the Biodiversity Assessment Method (BAM). Nigel has been an Accredited Assessor since the introduction of the scheme in 2017.


Nigel has also worked on a range of renewable projects in NSW and the ACT including wind turbine, solar farms and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). Songbird Ecology provided resources for Humelink, one of the largest biodiversity offset projects in the Southern Hemisphere associated with Snowy 2.0 Hydro Electrical Scheme.


Nigel has worked on High Environmental Value projects in the Coffs Harbour and Bellingen and New England Tablelands and completed a range of BDARs throughout NSW for both government and private entities.
